Looking for CE?

The Association offers a variety of continuing education (CE) opportunities:

  • All Association webinars are approved for CAWA CE.
  • Most of our webinars, courses, and recordings have been approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). These CEs may be applied toward ACO CE requirements per Ch. 829 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. 
  • The Shelter Medicine series (both live webinars and recordings) have been submitted to AAVSB for RACE CE for veterinary professionals.
  • Our Fall 2020 conferences' workshops have been approved for a variety of CEs, including CFRE for fundraising professionals, NACA, Texas DSHS, and of course CAWA. Learn more.

MindEdge Courses

MindEdge courses are generally 3+ hours each and often carry credits from CFRE, SHRM, PMI and more. Most MindEdge courses are approved by The Association for CAWA CE credits.

National Council On Pet Population Research Symposium - Nov. 18, 2019

The Symposium has been approved for 5 CEUs for behavior consultants by both the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and The International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC).

  • Socially Conscious Sheltering (NFR 1.5 PTS - NFR-non fundraising related course may be applied to the 10 point max on the CFRE initial certification and 5 point max on the recertification application) 

Texas DSHS:

The Fall Conference for Animal Welfare Advancement has been approved for 10.5 continuing education (CE) hours by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). These CEs may be applied toward ACO CE requirements per Ch. 829 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
